Tim Cook Replaced Steve Jobs 15 Years Ago Today, Steps Down Sept 1

Tim Cook Steve Jobs15 years ago today, Tim Cook was appointed Apple CEO following Steve Jobs' resignation on August 24, 2011. On September 1, Cook will step down and incoming CEO John Ternus will take over, ahead of Apple announcing new iPhone 18 Pro models and its first foldable iPhone.

Ternus joined Apple as part of its product design team in 2001. He became VP of hardware engineering in 2013 and senior VP in 2021, and has overseen AirPods, Mac, iPad, and iPhone development in that time. Cook will remain at Apple as executive chairman, where he will engage with policymakers and help Apple navigate regulatory pressure.

But does the CEO need to be? As long as they are open to listening to ideas, and seeking out those type of people, then surely that's a win.
