Apple's free Shortcuts app helps users get things done faster by automating a wide range of tasks, but the process of building new shortcuts on a step-by-step basis is fairly complex, especially for those who are not particularly tech savvy.
Starting with iOS 27, though, the Shortcuts app is easier to use than ever. On the iPhone 15 Pro and newer, you can now simply describe the shortcut that you want and Apple Intelligence will automatically assemble it for you.
For example, Apple said you can describe a shortcut that turns on your porch lights at night when you get a notification that your food delivery is arriving.
"Describe a Shortcut" is a huge improvement that makes the Shortcuts app more approachable than ever and opens it up to a much wider audience of users.
iOS 27 is currently in beta and is expected to be released in September.
