Apple Shares Photos Shot on iPhone Duo

Apple on Instagram today shared a curated gallery of six photos shot on the iPhone Duo. The photos were shot by American photographers Jake Michaels and Jason Nocito, as part of a project commissioned by Apple.

iPhone Duo is equipped with four cameras:

  • A rear 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera
  • A rear 48-megapixel Ultra Wide camera
  • A front 12-megapixel Center Stage camera in the outer display
  • A front camera under the inner display

iPhone Duo lacks a dedicated Telephoto camera, which is a dealbreaker for some customers. The main camera does have "optical-quality 2× Telephoto" capabilities, but this pales in comparison to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro models, which can achieve up to 8× optical zoom. Still, the photos shared by Apple prove that the iPhone Duo is still very capable for photography, at least in the hands of skilled photographers.

You can pre-order the iPhone Duo starting Friday, October 16 at 5 a.m. Pacific Time.

Phone cameras to me are an afterthought. I use it casually when out and about and these pics will only be shared between family/friends or will stay on the phone to view them later. For that purpose, even pictures from iPhone XS were enough. For serious photography or to print photos, I use my Sony setup. I can understand how to others these phone cameras are their primary cameras, and to those folks, I would say get 18 Pro/Max.

Hahaha my poor friend... If sometimes you don't see some shots, it's because the camera is not made for that... it's like wildlife photography...

A good example would be waterfalls where the iPhone duo cannot do as good as the 18 pro since no pro controls for NO REASON
You heard it folks...if you are planning on taking pictures of waterfalls, DO NOT get iPhone Duo.

I do love the Pro’s cameras, but I simply don’t use them enough to warrant not getting the duo. Most of my pics are selfi-style shots with friends or something a couple feet in front of me.

My main drawback isn’t the pictures, but the lack of the cameras for use in the Magnifying app, which I use a lot. But the Duo just looks too damn cool for me to not live with. And I only use the action button as a silent switch, but even that gets neglected because I set my ringer with location-based automations, and my phone is on silent or ring depending on where I’m at. So no loss on my end for lack of Action button. I do find it odd they included a camera control button and not an action button on the Duo.
