While we have previously rumored the expansion of the iTMS into Canada on November 26, one of several countries that remains without its own store is Japan. An article on CNET points to a release of a localized store by March 2005, with a 100,000 track catalog emphasizing Japanese music. Once released, the Japanese iTMS is expected to be the largest music download service available in that country.
Localized versions of the iTMS are now available in the US, Germany, France, the UK, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain.

Apple this year acquired Israeli startup Q.ai for close to $2 billion, according to the Financial Times. That would make this Apple's second-biggest acquisition ever, after it paid $3 billion for the popular headphone maker Beats in 2014.
This is also the largest known Apple acquisition since the company purchased Intel's smartphone modem business and patents for $1 billion in 2019.
