The one millionth post was made by member edesignuk, a long-term member of the forums, at 5:01 EST (6:01 EDT) on Monday, August 23, 2004, in the Community Discussion forum. MacRumors Forums began when the first members registered in June 2000. There are now over 39,000 registered users, over 85,000 forum threads, and over a million individual posts. The forums cover Apple news and rumors, hardware and software, and other topics of interest to the Macintosh community.

Apple this year acquired Israeli startup Q.ai for close to $2 billion, according to the Financial Times. That would make this Apple's second-biggest acquisition ever, after it paid $3 billion for the popular headphone maker Beats in 2014.
This is also the largest known Apple acquisition since the company purchased Intel's smartphone modem business and patents for $1 billion in 2019.
