X's Standalone Messaging App XChat Disappears From App Store
X's XChat app is no longer available from the App Store. The app does not come up when searching for it in the App Store, and clicking a link to it on the web returns an unavailable error.
XChat allows X users to communicate with one another using end-to-end encryption and disappearing messages. The app's description says it is a "private, focused space built for conversation." XChat launched in April 2026.
Update: It appears X removed the XChat app from the App Store, but hasn't yet said why.
