Foldable iPhone Duo to Come With Apple Pencil Support

apple pencil pro purple Apple's foldable iPhone Duo will come with Apple Pencil support, reports Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Gurman previously claimed that Apple had prototyped a dedicated Apple Pencil for its foldable iPhone that was "stubbier than the versions for iPads" and "designed to magnetically attach and charge on the side of the device," but he said it was unlikely that the accessory would be released.

Gurman's latest report mentions only "support for the Apple Pencil stylus" for the iPhone Duo, so it seems that the company has settled on a different approach.

So, design something that approaches a slab phone form factor closed, then add an accessory that breaks that and is not likely to stay attached when you throw it in your pocket unless you add a case that helps hold it in place, further impacting how it fits in a pocket.

So you are complaining Apple is giving you an option? Wouldn’t you rather have the ability to use it vs not at all?

Human Interface Guidelines for iOS claim (or at least they once did) that elementary controls like buttons should have a minimum size to handle finger touches. That's why a yes/no toggle on touch is different from something like a checkbox on a mouse-driven OS.

Adding a stylus makes me worry about all this. To be fair: I don't draw so my opinion on a stylus is heavy influenced by that fact alone. I just don't want to see iOS or iOS apps move into a territory where a stylus is needed.

You do realize Apple Pencil support launched over a decade ago (2015) and mouse suppory in 2019 with the same naysayers and doom and gloom about how nothing will have proper touch ui. Like really this aint new
