Chase Sapphire Preferred Card Introduces New Perk for Apple Customers

Chase this week announced new perks for its Sapphire Preferred credit card, and one of them is a complimentary one-year Apple TV streaming subscription.

Chase Sapphire Reserve Apple Perk Feature
To get the free year of Apple TV, which typically costs $12.99 per month in the U.S., you must activate the card by December 31, 2026.

If you are already subscribed to Apple TV directly through Apple, the complimentary subscription from Chase will automatically supersede your paid subscription until it ends, at which point the paid subscription will resume at the going price.

As noted by 9to5Mac, Apple One subscribers can receive a $7.50 discount per month instead.

If you are subscribed to Apple One directly through Apple, and activate your complimentary Apple TV access on Chase.com or the Chase Mobile app with the same Apple Account connected to your Apple One billing, you will automatically receive a $7.50 discount on your Apple One subscription for 12 months starting on your next billing period.

Chase's Sapphire Preferred card continues to have a $95 annual fee. New and existing cardholders have access to these new benefits starting today.

The other new benefits include 3× points on gas, EV charging, and Airbnb and Vrbo bookings, while the card's annual hotel statement credit has been doubled to $100. There is also a new $120 Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS credit every four years, along with new "emergency evacuation and transportation" coverage.

On the other hand, the 10% anniversary bonus benefit is being discontinued, and Ultimate Rewards points will transfer to World of Hyatt at a rate of 4:3.

More details are available in Chase's press release. For a limited time, new cardholders can earn 100,000 points after spending $5,000 in the first three months.

Chase's higher-end Sapphire Reserve credit card offers complimentary Apple TV and Apple Music subscriptions, but it has an annual fee of $795.

Update: Sapphire Reserve cardholders can now get a $15/month discount on Apple One.

Does the Apple One subscription need to be paid with the Chase card or is the credit applied even if you use an Apple Card to pay the subscription for Apple One?
No, its a credit applied. My monthly Apple One account renews at $29.95 now instead of $37.95. Its still linked to my Apple Card.

I went to activate this offer and now see an individual subscription to Apple Music (cancel via Chase) and Apple One.
Is that what ended up on your end or is this FUBAR?
If you did it this way, it will appear as a discount on your next renewal. Or, you can cancel your activation with Chase, and cancel AppleOne. Then re-activate with Chase and re-subscribe to Apple One. The discount will take effect immediately. I did it this morning no issues.

I'm wondering that too and hesitant to click activate now if it will create issues to cancel in the future. Currently it's easy to see all my Apple subscriptions in one section through account/app store.

Not a fan seeing others mention cancel via Chase wording.
See above. There is a Reddit thread on this as well. I followed the steps and it worked perfectly.

Unfortunately- Chase has a super paranoid website login requirement: You have to CALL them every time and get special codes they send you then recite them and verify your address and account verbally - every single time you want to see your account.
The login blessing you finally receive is coded into a web cookie that expires that day - then you’ve got to go through all the rigamarole once again the next time.
I discovered this super annoying requirement when I got an Amazon Chase Visa card.
Every month I say I’m going to cancel it (because of this ) but laziness puts it off. I don’t use the card at all cuz I don’t want to get involved with them.
This should not be the case. Chase's website supports multiple forms of multi-factor authentication, including text messages and emails in addition to calling. And their website also supports passkeys which bypasses MFA entirely. And if you're on a trusted device and mark it as such the MFA goes away entirely.

If you're experiencing the need to call into Chase with an MFA code every time you login there's something wrong with your setup. I've been a Chase customer for years and never had to go through these hoops to login.

I just activated this - it shows apple one subscription I pay for, then apple tv subscribed through chase "included with your chase plan". I got an email from Apple that says "You have multiple subscriptions to the same service." My understanding is I should get $7.50 off the Apple One sub. I guess we'll see what happens...

Thank you for information! Is there a cancel button through Chase app if I decide to end Apple TV subscription after a year?

I don't mean to keep bringing up the cancel question, but don't want to be stuck disputing charges adding yet another subscription service. As someone mentioned on Reddit feels like they'd like us to forget in a year and then auto-renew.
I imagine Apple will notify you as you approach the expiration date. But you can easily set a reminder and log onto chase and "de-activate" it prior to the 1-year end date.
