Apple today started testing iOS 26.4, so it's possible the new firmware includes features related to the iOS 26.4 beta.

With iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe, Apple added a beta firmware update installation option that's available from the AirPods settings interface when the AirPods are connected to an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, which facilitates beta testing.

Developers and public beta testers can use the beta option to turn on beta downloads.

If Apple wants more people to test this, at least explain what's new or fixed?

I usually laugh at the people here trying to force it--but this time my APP3s won't update no matter what I do.

5 MINUTES LATER: And maybe I just checked and the beta update toggle was no longer on. 🤦‍♂️

16 HOURS LATER, with toggle ON: Still no update. This has never happened to me before. Plugging into Mac has always done the trick.

I might be crazy but I feel like this new firmware made the bass a little stronger, like trying to match the sounds profile if APP3 to APP2. Anyways, I have brand new APP3 in box that I’ve replaced countless times due to static noises, I wonder if this fixed that?
