Apple Store in Santa Rosa is Moving Later This Month

Apple's retail store in Santa Rosa, California will be moving from the Santa Rosa Plaza shopping mall to the open-air Montgomery Village shopping plaza later this month.

The new store at Montgomery Village will be holding its grand opening on Friday, January 23, at 12 p.m. local time, according to Apple's website.

Apple will have a much larger space at Montgomery Village compared to its existing location at the Santa Rosa Plaza, and it will of course have a modern design. Many newer stores feature a dedicated Apple Pickup station for online orders.

Elsewhere in California, Apple continues to renovate its store in Carlsbad, north of San Diego. Apple has a temporary location there, at 1925 Calle Barcelona. Apple is also operating out of a temporary store at the South Coast Plaza shopping mall in Costa Mesa, south of Los Angeles, while it renovates its original location there.

That's my childhood hometown, and I've used that store for family tech support when I am back home. I remember when Apple opened one of its first "mini stores" in that spot. The expansion was a great improvement, but moving from the downtown indoor mall (which has felt like it's dying for years) to this outdoor shopping center with parking right in front of the store will be a huge step up.

Same. Haven’t been there in years, as the rest of my family moved, but…

lots of formative memories there :)

My favorite podcaster, Leo Laporte used to go to this Apple Store because it was the closest one to where he lives/works

Looks like this store was last updated in 2011 - and was increased in size so that it was six times larger square footage as the previous store:

While we're all swapping Santa Rosa memories, I used to cut through Santa Rosa Plaza on my way to middle school.

Also, I played around with a brand new Apple Lisa just a few blocks from there at a computer shop that was on Mendocino Ave. We were learning BASIC at school on Apple IIs around that time, so the Lisa felt incredibly futuristic.
