It would be nice if Apple created their own wireless CarPlay adapter (for cars that only have USB CarPlay) so that we wouldn’t have to rely on unreputable third-party companies to create them

Didn't have any issues with wired CarPlay. I do wired, because Apple Music sounds better with a direct connection, vs. Bluetooth.
Wireless CarPlay creates a peer-to-peer WiFi network between the iPhone and car stereo/receiver. Bluetooth is used as the initial handshake, but then everything is WiFi, including audio streaming. Theoretically this WiFi connection would have more bandwidth than the USB 2.0 wired connection.

Wireless CarPlay has always been a buggy experience as a whole.
But at least I don't have to plug my phone every time I get in the car.

I have been having issues since 18.4 with audio dropping out for a second or two every few minutes. Hopefully this corrects that.
