Apple Says Upcoming iOS 18.1 Update Includes These Four Bug Fixes
Apple today made the iOS 18.1 Release Candidate available to developers and public beta testers, and this means the release notes for the update are now out. Along with the first Apple Intelligence features for iPhone 15 Pro models and newer, and support for new hearing features on the AirPods Pro 2, iOS 18.1 includes a handful of bug fixes.
iOS 18.1 fixes four bugs, including one that caused some iPhone 16 models to unexpectedly restart, according to Apple's release notes:
• Fixes an issue in Podcasts where unplayed episodes are marked as played
• Fixes an issue where videos recorded at 4K 60 while the device is warm could experience stutter while scrubbing the video playback in Photos
• Fixes an issue where digital car keys may not unlock or start a vehicle with passive entry after restoring from a backup or transferring directly from another iPhone
• Fixes an issue where iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro models may unexpectedly restart
Apple has confirmed that iOS 18.1 will be released to the public next week. Read our earlier coverage of the iOS 18.1 Release Candidate for more details about the update, including Apple's full release notes outlining all new features.
