If pairs could work in stereo, I’d consider a second one.
Can't they though?

Tried HomePod Minis but had connectivity issues, and Siri is just outright unreliable. Caved and bought an Amazon Echo Dot 5th gen. Alexa is leaps and bounds ahead of Siri. I had no idea Alexa was that far ahead. You can damn near mumble something from 20 feet away and she nails it every time. Sound is also more than adequate. I realize I give up whatever perceived privacy we feel we have in the Apple ecosystem. However, all my tracking is turned off and yet I have conversations about shoes or something random and an ad for that very thing pops up in my social media feeds, so I don’t really buy the Apple privacy thing as secure as it’s made out.

HomePod mini rivals iOS 7 as the most astoundingly disappointing thing to come from Apple.

That says a lot.

Is frustrating, unpredictable, and near impossible to reset and rename.

Good job Apple.

But when it works, I like mine. Just too much like anything like Microsoft, it's not easy/quick to figure out the basics you need to know to get the mini to do what you want. Shame.

We're getting married on 12/30 and I moved one of my HomePod mini's to the dinner area to show my fiancé how nice they sound. I unplugged it and moved it back to my office. It's playing music from a source I can't even figure out where it's coming from. Can't turn off the music. Another example of Apple no longer It Just Works.

Bring back the original HomePod (at least the form factor). HomePod mini is a joke
Eh, depends on your use case.
My 8 yo has one in her room and it’s been a game changer for her. I’m impressed with the fidelity of that tiny speaker for her sized room. Is there better fidelity? Of course. But I think you’d be hard-pressed to find noticeably better fidelity, in that foot print, at that price point.

That said, I too would love to see a return of a larger HomePod.
