The new M2iPad Pro is finally here, with the same design, display, and cameras as last year's iPad Pro, but with the added benefit of performance improvements offered by the M2 Apple silicon chip.
Despite being a fairly minor upgrade, there are some noteworthy changes, new features, and things you should know about with the new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro. We've rounded up four tidbits below:
"iPad Pro" is now printed on the back of the iPad Pro, unlike before.
Despite the iPhone 14 removing the SIM card tray in the US, cellular models of the new iPad Pro still feature a SIM card tray. The iPad Pro also still supports eSIM.
The iPad Pro now supports ProRes video recording in 4K at up to 60 FPS using the 12MP Wide camera.
The 16GB memory confirmation of the iPad Pro is still only offered with 1TB and 2TB storage configuration models. Other configurations have 8GB of memory.
The new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro are available to order starting today and will begin shipping to customers on Wednesday, October 26.

Update — 10 a.m. Pacific Time: Apple has released iOS 27.
During its iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo event last week, Apple announced that iOS 27 will be released widely on Monday, September 14.
iOS 27 should be available around 10 a.m. Pacific Time / 1 p.m. Eastern Time today via the Settings app, under General → Software Update.

Apple today announced a new subscription initiative that turns paid iCloud+ subscriptions into a broader services bundle in more than 100 countries.
In select countries, Apple says every paid iCloud+ plan, including the cheapest 50GB tier, now includes Apple TV and Apple Arcade "at no additional cost," while family sharing extends the storage, TV and Arcade access to up to five people....
Why would anyone struggle with an iPad for video editing when you can do the same MUCH more efficiently, with MUCH better software, with MUCH better file etc. support, with MUCH better external screen support on a Mac, for around the same price if you also add Apple's keyboard and - to have 16GB of RAM - go for at least the 1TB model?! And the Mac is significantly less locked down.
