Apple Seeds First macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 Beta to Developers

by

Apple today seeded the first beta of an upcoming macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 update to developers, just after releasing the macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 update and more than a month after releasing the new macOS High Sierra operating system to the public.

The macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 beta can be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center or through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store with the proper profile installed.

It's not yet clear what improvements the second update to macOS High Sierra will bring, but it's likely to include bug fixes and performance improvements for issues that weren't addressed in macOS High Sierra 10.31.1.

The previous update, 10.13.1, introduced fixes for some serious security flaws and brought new emoji to the macOS operating system.

We'll update this post with any new features that are found in macOS High Sierra 10.13.2.

That name is certainly interesting. Bridging across platforms? In what possible way?
Bridge OS is the watchOS derivative that runs on the T1, i.e. for Touch Bar / Touch ID.

Actually I'm going to delay installing it for a day. I want to have the public release of 10.13.1 at least for a day before installing the 10.13.2 beta - if only to back it up.

I don't really like being on betas 100% of the time. 99% is OK, but not 100. Public releases have to be tested too. Sometimes they have new bugs not present in any of the betas. So if you are on betas 100% of the time you may miss these new bugs and not be able to report them.

Also, looking at one of justperry's pictures

J137 looks like an apple product codename. But I don't know what for. If we can figure out what that codename is for this may tell us what Bridge OS is all about.

This is the first beta of High Sierra available as a combo

But it also comes with a new thing called Bridge OS Brain and Bridge OS Update Customer:

I am curious what inside Bridge OS Brain and Bridge OS Update Customer, I''ll have a look into it soon after my download finishes before a restart/install.
