Illustration app Procreate released a significant update to its iPad app yesterday, including various new features such as HD canvas recording that records the real-time progress of an illustration in 1080p, as well as unlocking the “Artery” brush pack that was previously exclusive to an In-App Purchase.
The app also includes support for the forthcoming Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus for iPad announced yesterday, as well as updated support for the Adonit Jot Touch stylus and improved export options for Dropbox and iTunes.
With its gorgeous interface and incredible Silica painting engine, it’s easy to see why Procreate® is one of the hottest iPad apps available today. Packed with 120 beautiful brushes, from true-to-life sets of pencils, inks and paint brushes, to unique digital tools, Procreate is a full digital studio at your finger tips.
Previously, the illustration app was notable for winning an Apple Design Award at WWDC 2013. Procreate is $4.99 and can be downloaded from the App Store. [Direct Link]
It's amazing that such powerful apps are so inexpensive.
It also goes to show you no matter how powerful an app is there is no substitute for artistic talent. I could use this app until the end of time and never come up with anything remotely as good as what is in the video :D

Agree completely. This app is gold for painters. As a hobbyist, I have completely moved from paper/pencil/brush medium to the ipad for my painting bursts. My day job and rigors of day to day life simply did not allow me to paint anything complete before I moved to iPad. Before this I would create something once or twice a year. With the iPad, I keep making portions as an when time permits. iPad is a great platform for artists.

This and Adobe Ideas are my go-to apps for sketching out ideas. For "real art," this has the edge over Ideas (unless you want sharp vectors).

And this app is just brilliant.
