No Apple PDA, No Apple Cell Phone?

PowerPage has what appears to be first notes from the "D: All Things Digital" conference. This conference is hosted by The Wall Street Journal and brought Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Steve Case along with other speakers for interviews and discussions.

According to PowerPage, Jobs echoes previous statements that he feels that PDAs are not in Apple's future, nor do they feel they can add much value to current cell phones. Video iPods also appear to be out - at least self contained ones... though " he does see potential to use small device to drive a TV as the presentation vehicle".

Of note, the brief article notes that 3 million songs have been purchased so far under the iTunes Music Store. No official numbers have been released since the 2 million song mark May 14th.

A delayed broadcast of some of the events may be available later.

Not always true, they weren't the first to come out with a portable MP3 player for example so they didn't exactly create that trend, but they sure as hell rode it out..

Problem with Apple Phone

I would think with all the carriers out there that an Apple phone would be a nightmare. Would it work on Sprint, Verizon, SBC, Nextel, etc? No, that means many models.
As much as a stylish Apple designed phone would be cool, I cannot think what Apple could add to it, and still keep the device and service costs reasonable.
