Over the weekend, the video calling app Zoom was updated with iPhone Duo optimization. On the device's large inner display, users can now see shared content such as the host's desktop and other participants on a call at the same time.
In addition, four Microsoft apps were updated with iPhone Duo optimization today: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote. Microsoft Outlook was already optimized for the device since it launched, but Microsoft Teams has yet to be.
Apps built with the iOS 27.1 SDK or later are fully optimized for iPhone Duo. These apps extend to fill the entire outer and inner displays on the device, with toolbars and tab bars appearing vertically below the status bar.
Apps built with the iOS 26 SDK or earlier run on iPhone Duo, but they appear in the center of the inner display, leaving lots of empty space.
In the App Store, optimized apps have a "Made for iPhone Duo" label on the device.

Some iPhone Duos are already experiencing hinge issues that cause display cracks, based on photos shared on Reddit and the MacRumors forums. Almost all of the display faults are right along the hinge, and most result in a line of bright pixels across one side of the screen.
An iPhone Duo owner in Australia said his device cracked after being opened fewer than 20 times, and there was no...
Google needs to hurry the F up. Google Maps, Google Photos, Google Calendar ... I know people say they'll drag it out as a competitor but first impressions Count and if their Apps look like crap on iOS, why would anyone jump to Android assuming they look just like THAT.
I mean not even Disney+ or Duolingo are updated 😵💫
And of course the ONE app I use all day, throughout the day, which is Teams....is still not available for Duo. Going from using Teams on a Pro Max to the small Duo view is challenging. Hopefully they get this one updated soon!
