All Current iPads Now Feature a Landscape Front Camera
With the introduction of the new iPad mini, every model in Apple's current iPad lineup now features a landscape front-facing camera. The transition began with the 10th-generation iPad in 2022, followed by the M2 iPad Air and M4 iPad Pro in 2024.
The iPad mini was the last remaining model with its front camera on the portrait edge. Situating the new 12-megapixel Center Stage camera along the landscape edge provides a more natural perspective for video calls when holding the device horizontally.
