Crossy Road was a think a decade ago, I'm not so sure its a thing now. Maybe it has a dedicated following, it was a fun game to be sure
Agreed. Once a game hits EOL, it goes to Apple Arcade to die.

I have something sad to share with my fellow Mac nerds, of which I am not proud. Hopefully, I'm not voted off the island.

Aside from the rogue library computer (yeah, I'm that old), I have only ever used Macs. Have had no reason to looks elsewhere. Life was good. Fast-forward to today... This household of four are all Mac-based; several iPhones, iPads, Macs, AppleTVs, etc. I have a 15-yo who spends most of his time gaming with friends. That's their "hanging out under the street light until dark" scenario. But gaming on his M2 Mac mini, even with Steam (which has certainly bought him some time) is simply not where he wants to be [mainly] because none of his friends [or any gamers] are there.

So, today (dear god)... For his 16th birthday (dry heave)... With his own money, which I am actually [somewhat] proud to say (feeling dizzy)... I order my first, and likely only, PC configured for gaming [and a monitor to support]. In the wide array of human emotions, this is one I've never known. 53 years walking the Earth... And here we are.

My point for sharing this shameful development? AAA is never coming to Macs [in any serious way] so ther his a 0% chance they show up on AppleYTV. That's not Apple's focus/audience/anything. As we know, where Apple shines is taking an established category and redefining. There is no redefining the AAA gaming category. Nor is there moving any real gamer off their customizable/expandable PC and into The Ecosystem - certainly not in numbers required to begin to even justify the concept, let alone the Herculean effort required to implement. So Crossy Roads is about as good as it's gonna get - which is clearly fine for some, not so for others. Such is life.

Did I mention I bought a PC today? 🤮

1000% agree with you.

But if the new Timmy wants to really change the "game" for Mac desktops then focusing on Gaming would open up the category to vast new users,,,,, Losing kids to PC because of gaming is loosing future adults to the PC because that's what they grew up with.

at some point they can only raise existing prices so far before loosing customers so its either expand an already small category or find a new one... This is sooner than later for Apple at this point.

Maybe they announce some games next week with the new appletv and rumored game controllers. Hopefully they are saving the good stuff for that event. Otherwise I don’t understand the direction they are going with Apple Arcade given than the hardware is finally capable enough for more “serious” games.
