Apple Announces iPhone 18 Pro Photography Exhibition

iphone 18 pro photographyApple today announced "What Holds Us," a photography exhibition featuring work shot exclusively on the iPhone 18 Pro by Alex Prager, Jack Davison, and Jimmy Chin. Curated by Kathy Ryan, the exhibition explores human connection through crowd scenes, portraits involving clay, and mountain photography.

The exhibition will be on display in New York City from September 18 to 20, before traveling to London and Shanghai over the coming months. You can see many of the exhibition's images in Apple's Newsroom post.

Hehehe, that’s alright but you will never get the power of dedicated mirrorless cameras ! Of course Apple shows the best without showing all limitations !
On paper, you're left brain is correct: an 8.75 mm thin iPhone 18 Pro isn't as capable of capturing as much light as an 84 mm thick Cannon EOS R (and that's not counting the lens). But that's to the point here. [Aside from marketing] The point of this exhibit has nothing to do with our left hemispheres. They're showcasing that camera phones - specifically iPhone 18 Pro - and their computational back-end, have gotten ridiculously capable. And in the hands of professional photographers, it's possible to produce exhibit-caliber photography that can delight our right hemispheres.

At the end of the day, Chase Jarvis said it best - "The best camera is the one you have with you."

And Apple's point is that the iPhone 18 Pro you have in your pocket is pretty kick-ass.
