With the new Apple Upgrade program launched in the U.S. today, you can now lease select iPhone models from Apple for less than $1 per day.

The program essentially allows you to subscribe to an iPhone with monthly payments. At the end of the lease, you can return your iPhone and either upgrade to a new iPhone or move on. If you prefer to keep your iPhone at the end of the lease, you can pay a fee through the Klarna app to own it outright instead of upgrading to a new one.
Apple Upgrade allows you to lease an entry-level iPhone 17e for as little as $17.99 per month, which is equivalent to around 60 cents per day. Even the iPhone 17 Pro starts right around the $1 per day mark through the program.
