Beat the Apple Price Hikes: These MacBook Pro Deals Won't Last Long

Apple recently introduced major price hikes across a number of products, including Macs, iPads, and more. This week, Apple's newly increased prices have begun to hit third-party retailers like Amazon, but there are a few select MacBook Pro models that are retaining original prices, which now represent solid discounts on each device.

14-Inch MacBook Pro

There are now just two models left of the 14-inch MacBook Pro at notable low prices in the wake of Apple's price hikes. Prices start at $2,549.99 for the 15-Core/24GB/2TB 14-inch M5 Pro MacBook Pro, now a $449 discount on the new price of this model. A similar 18-Core configuration is on sale for $2,749.99 as well, another $449 discount on the new price.

16-Inch MacBook Pro

In terms of the larger display models, we're tracking four total discounts on Amazon. These start at $2,649.99 for the 24GB/1TB M5 Pro configuration ($349 off), and reach up to $4,349.99 for the 48GB/2TB M5 Max device ($649 off). If you're interested in any of these MacBook Pro notebooks, we recommend purchasing soon as these big markdowns aren't expected to last much longer.

Picked up the M5 Pro MacBook Pro, 15CPU/16GPU, 24GB/2TB, 14" for $2,209 at Micro Center the day before the price increases were announced. Don't know if they still have that deal or not. Pinching myself that I snagged it.

if the chatter on Wall Street is correct (maybe , maybe not) the AI craze may have peaked, stay tuned to chip fabricators quarterly reports (where available), prices could get interesting again
AI investment is indeed slowing. With the public pushback on data centers and people are not spending to buy into the AI ecosystem. OpenAI and Meta are bleeding money and the internal panic is quite real. The future is on-device localized AI anyhow and this bubble is going to burst sooner or later. The question is will it be a catastrophic popping of the balloon? Or will it be a gradual deflation?

That said, it's going to be a while until RAM and other chip prices normalize. Honestly, they may not come back down at all if the chipmakers think the market can continue to bear the costs. Many chipmakers are already planning high prices, even more increases into next year because it will be late next year before their existing purchase agreements and sales contracts are fulfilled and volumes subside, even if all the AI spending stopped tomorrow.

Must be nice to have those prices

Tim must have a dislike for Canada - or hockey or maple syrup. Maybe he had a flashback to wearing flannel.
Tim doesn't have a dislike for Canada but I know who does and he resides just south of Canada. Last I heard, Tim and this other guy get together rather often and Tim gives him money that this other guy does not need. Can't divulge the other guy as this is not the Political forum but you can guess!

you can also beat the price hikes by shopping elsewhere. I think it’s whack that Apple launched Neo with price as a selling point only to backtrack after a few months. It’s predatory. I don’t feel a need to panic buy which only makes their decision more profitable!
