iOS 27 Hints at All-New 'iPhone Ultra'
Apple this week unveiled iOS 27, and the upcoming software update seems to hint at the rumored "iPhone Ultra" in at least two ways.

"iPhone Ultra" is reportedly the name of Apple's long-rumored foldable iPhone. Like Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold, the foldable iPhone will open up like a book, providing users with a large inner screen for videos, games, and multitasking.
The first hint is that iOS 27's code includes two new references that point directly toward a foldable device: "foldState" and "angleDegrees."
Second, Apple introduced support for dynamically resizable iOS apps. This is initially for the iPad and iPhone Mirroring on the Mac, but it is likely that Apple is laying the groundwork for larger apps on the foldable iPhone's inner screen. iOS 27 will likely be able to show one large app or two standard-sized apps side-by-side on the device.
iOS 27 is currently available in developer beta, with a public beta to follow in July. The update is expected to be released in September, which is also when the foldable iPhone is expected to be unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models.
