A recent leak provides our best look yet at the design of Apple's upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models.
Leaker Sonny Dickson recently shared images of the first iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and foldable iPhone dummy models. The images largely conform with rumors about the designs of the three devices and provide the first real visual confirmation of how they will look.
iPhone dummy units are intended to take the place of real devices for testing purposes, particularly for accessory manufacturers, who seek to mass produce items such as cases prior to the announcement of new devices, which necessitates a relatively high level of accuracy.
The dummy units suggest that iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will look largely the same as their predecessors, other than a smaller Dynamic Island visible on the dummies. The iPhone 17 Pro was the first major iPhone redesign in years, so it is unsurprising that the iPhone 18 Pro will look essentially the same.
Other rumors agree that the iPhone 18 Pro lineup will largely retain the same design as the iPhone 17 Pro models; the rear camera "plateau" and display sizes are expected to remain unchanged. The devices could be slightly thicker to accommodate a larger battery, but the change is expected to be too slight to see on these dummy models.
Another rumored change that wouldn't be visible on the dummy models are adjustments to the rear glass. The iPhone 18 Pro models could drop the current two-tone look of the rear casing found on the iPhone 17 Pro in favor of a more seamless aesthetic. For the next-generation models, Apple has apparently updated the back-glass "replacement process" to minimize the color difference between the Ceramic Shield 2 glass and the aluminum frame, resulting in a more unified appearance.
New color options could include light blue, dark cherry, and dark gray. The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and first foldable iPhone are expected to launch in the fall.
