Apple Releases New Firmware for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3

Apple today released new firmware designed for the AirPods Pro 3 and the prior-generation AirPods Pro 2. The ‌AirPods Pro 3‌ firmware is 8B30, up from 8B25, while the AirPods Pro 2 firmware is 8B28, up from 8B21.

AirPods Pro Firmware Feature
There's no word on what's include in the updated firmware, but the AirPods Pro 2 and ‌AirPods Pro 3‌ are getting expanded support for Live Translation in the European Union in iOS 26.2, which is being beta tested and is close to release.

The firmware could be related to that upcoming functionality, or it could add bug fixes and performance improvements.

To install the new firmware, make sure your AirPods are in range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. From there, put your AirPods in the Charging Case and connect the Charging Case to power. Keep the case closed and wait at least 30 minutes for the firmware update to install.

The biggest feature they could add to this is a way to manually update them when you want to moving forward
I'd go further than that. I want one central location where I can view every Apple device on my account with the ability to update them all instead of going to each device. That includes things like the Apple TV, AirPods, or even the Apple Pencil.

Something sort of like this would be nice, it would be a massive quality of life improvement.

Hoping it fixes the high pitched squeal they make when I'm grabbing them off of a desk and they get too close together while I'm grabbing the case to put them in.

As someone who significantly prefers the more “fun” slightly v-shaped tuning of these over the flat boring 2s (I have real headphones for mixing and producing!) I really hope they don’t change the sound signature due to “feedback”. Please Apple, I upgraded for a reason and I like it!

Awesome! Love trying out new builds of AirPods firmware in case I get an unexpected boost in quality for free (yes, I’m easily amused).
