I can’t for the life of me figure out why they need 5 hours to update their store for a few new products. Or why they have to take down their entire store, preventing the ability to buy anything else.

To stop the bots from preordering phones. And also to build excitement.

Shutting the site down also limits the possibility of a DOS.

It's funny - If I ever want to see a full-on anti-Apple attitude and people moaning about whatever Apple are releasing next, I won't have to go to an android-oriented site, I'll just come to Macrumors.

Literally every single blog post on this site is followed up with a stream of comments moaning about whatever was posted. I honestly can't understand why a lot of you hang around here.

FWIW I'll be getting a 256gb 17 Pro this year, upgrading from a 13 Pro, and this is the first year I've seen an upgrade worth having. Looking forward to better battery life and a better telephoto camera :)
