We expect iOS 18.7 to be released in September, alongside iOS 26. The update will likely include fixes for security vulnerabilities, but little else.

iOS 18.7 will be one of the final updates ever released for the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, as those devices are not compatible with iOS 26.

iOS 26 is compatible with the iPhone 11 and newer.

Following months of beta testing, iOS 26 is finally nearing a release, with the update likely to be made available to the general public around the middle of September.

Apple deserve a lot of their criticism, but on this count, they are leading the way. When you buy an iPhone, you are guaranteed 7 years of updates and that is impressive. google and Samsung are now offering it, but they wouldn't have without Apple

I'm happy I've not felt the need to upgrade in years; my wife's 12, my 13, my two daughter's 14s. All work fine. Like my truck, I will run my phone into the ground before I need to upgrade. I'm gettin' old, I don't need the latest and greatest anymore.
