I have a M2 Air with 512 GB that’s only a little over half full. Dunno that everyone needs 1 TB minimum.

Is it really much of a sale if they're selling it at $799 most of the time?

Does anyone buy a Mac or iPad at Apple Stores these days? They're always on sale at 3rd party retailers. It's weird.
if you need more than the pitiful storage these come with then yes lol. laptops especially should have a bare minimum of a TB. they did in the HDD days. they sure should now.

If Apple iCloud for files were more robust, most of us would be fine with 256-512...however I've occasionally run into issues with Apple iCloud file management across devices.

I'd trust it a lot more if I had only ONE device/MacBook, I hate to say.
My biggest issue is Messages. Messages uses 190gb in my iCloud, and like 125gb on my Mac Mini which has Messages enabled — I disable it on my 256gb MacBook because it fills up the drive.

I know I can dig into the Messages files in Finder and delete individual attachments, but will that mess with Messages in the cloud? Will it delete the whole attachment in the cloud?

Meanwhile, the “top conversations” feature is terrible:
[LIST=1]
* Chances are, these top conversations are among the most important, so why would we want to delete years-worth of messages with our closest friends and family?
* My top conversations total in iCloud is 37gb — so where is the remaining 153gb? My smallest “top conversation” is 300mb. Surely it’s not smaller conversations using all of that space.

But yeah I’m with you. I don’t trust it completely. It would be great to be able to view all data in iCloud in a Finder or Files-like interface. Plus the ability to export conversations.

This same sale is so frequent. It makes me think if I hold out until Black Friday, I’ll get an even better deal ?
Never pay full retail at Apple. Always a discount somewhere
