Apple's Back to School Promotion Ending Soon: Here's What You Can Get

In June, Apple launched its annual Back to School promotion for college students in the U.S. and select other countries. Students can get a free Apple gift card with the purchase of an eligible Mac or iPad from Apple, along with 20% off AppleCare+ plans.

Apple 2024 Back to School Offer
In the U.S. and Canada, the promotion ends on September 30, so time is running out to take advantage of the offer if you are a student. There is still more time in the U.K. and select other European countries, where the promotion ends October 21.

In the U.S., Apple is offering the following:

  • A free $150 Apple gift card with any new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, or iMac
  • A free $100 Apple gift card with any new iPad Pro with an M4 chip, iPad Air with an M2 chip, or Mac mini

The gift card can be used towards purchases of Apple products and accessories, App Store apps, subscriptions to services like Apple Music, iCloud+ storage, and more.

The offer is available through Apple's online education store and at Apple Store locations for students attending or accepted to a higher-education institution, faculty and staff of higher-education institutions, parents purchasing on behalf of an eligible student, employees of a K-12 institution, and select others.

Lol, why not iPhones?
Because this is a back to school sale, and kids shouldn’t be on their smartphones in the classroom.

But you can use the gift card from this towards a new iPhone if you want.

In India, it is AirPods and Apple Pencil and not gift cards. Offer ends at the end of the month.

I've been very tempted to order the base $899 M4 iPad Pro on this deal, but I am holding out for the new mini next month!
An iPad mini pro/pro mini, would be absolutely perfect. One can dream 🤔

Yes I’m debating if I should order a base mini as the price is so tempting. The gift card is as good as cash for me since we spend a lot on services anyway. I just wonder if the new mini will be priced the same (besides the GC obviously). For $100 more than the back to school deal it’d be worth to get the new model, especially if it really comes with more RAM as is rumored. But if they bump up the price then the old one maybe would be ok. I currently use a 16/1TB M1 mini as an NVR for security cameras and it doesn’t really need 16GB RAM and I don’t run off the internal flash so it’s kind of wasted. I could replace it with the $400 base M2 with this deal and use the better spec’d M1 somewhere else. Plus the M2 has some video codec advantages over the M1. But then again, maybe I should just wait for the new mini. Or get both lol. Idk
I wonder if I could order one for pickup just before the deal expires, then delay picking it up and hope to still be in return window when the new ones get announced…
The current (soon to be old) M2 model will definitely be 499 or even 399 at places like BH this holiday season as they clear out inventory. Id grab one then. The new upcoming mini will be USB-C only and probably will lack an ethernet port on lower end models (like the iMac or apple TV) so something to keep in mind if you're using it to feed cameras
