Instagram today announced support for adding text and additional images to photo and carousel posts, a new feature that will let Instagram users do more with still photos.
There is a new text button that can be used after selecting a photo to upload, and additional images can be added in sticker form by tapping on the gallery button at the top right of the screen. Stickers can be added in several shapes, including rectangle, square, circle, heart, or star.
There are new fonts, animations, and effects that can be used for reels and stories, plus a simplified text tool. Users can open the text tool and tap on the text button to see the new font options. Once a font is chosen, separate animations and effects can be added. The new font options that Instagram is adopting can also be used with photos and carousels.
Earlier this month, Instagram added support for putting up to 20 photos and videos in a carousel post, plus it introduced a feature for adding a song to an Instagram profile.
Instagram is now available on the Apple TV, bringing Reels, longer videos, and live shows via the platform to Apple's streaming device for the first time.

While the new iPad mini has an OLED display, the device does not support ProMotion, meaning the display's refresh rate is limited to 60Hz instead of 120Hz.
ProMotion support would have allowed for the iPad mini's refresh rate to automatically adjust from 10Hz to 120Hz depending on the content being displayed, but evidently Apple has kept the feature exclusive to the iPad Pro among iPad...
I thought that they ditched the photos at all. Not that it matters, but previously the reach and engangement of my photos was much greater. Over the last two years it got really low without obvious reason. Now my feed is just full of ads, random reels and that's about it.

I've stopped posting ages ago, now I just check in on my friends who are on there and post occasional stories. Instagram content creation has become really a waste of effort and time
