when Apple first introduced Apple TV+, I was skeptical and reticent to say the least.
But now, even talking to non-tech people, I'm surprised how much they like it.
The quality of original content being offered is like what Netflix could have been if they had continued on the strong path they started with. (Stranger Things, Daredevil, The Witcher season 1 etc)
Current Netflix originals pale in comparison.

The real news here is the absolute dearth of quality content these days. Apple just advantageously pumps out more crap to fill the void and infuses it with their own ideologies.
Uh-huh, sure. Sugar, Slow Horses, Presumed Innocent, Lessons In Chemistry, The New Look, etc. are crap representing supposed "Apple ideologies" (whatever a fevered mind thinks those are).

it's really quite the marvel (no pun intended, I swear) as an Apple nerd to see ATV+ as a cultural phenomenon. I felt the exact same way upon its debut; seeing people who are true devotees to some of the shows on there is a very "wow" moment for me.

72 Emmy noms is…quite something, for one distributor of content. it's clear Tim is putting a metric f—kton of money into scoping out new content + hiring people who are the absolute best at doing such.
