Apple in iOS 14 added cycling directions to Apple Maps, providing specific directions for bike riders with bike lanes, bike paths, and bike-friendly routes that highlight steep inclines, stairs, and other obstacles.
Cycling directions have been limited to a handful of locations since launch, but as of this week, Apple appears to have expanded availability to San Diego, California and Portland, Oregon.
iPhone users in these areas began receiving notifications about cycling directions yesterday. Apple also sent out notifications in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, London and Los Angeles, where the cycling directions were already available. The notifications may suggest an expansion of cycling direction availability in these locations.
Apple maintains a list of all of the areas where cycling directions are available on its website, but Portland and San Diego have yet to be added. Cycling directions are officially available in China, London, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

While the new iPad mini has an OLED display, the device does not support ProMotion, meaning the display's refresh rate is limited to 60Hz instead of 120Hz.
ProMotion support would have allowed for the iPad mini's refresh rate to automatically adjust from 10Hz to 120Hz depending on the content being displayed, but evidently Apple has kept the feature exclusive to the iPad Pro among iPad...

In the U.S. and most other countries, Apple's website shows the new iPad mini being held by pinched fingers, but this is not the case in South Korea.

Strava is also useless for routing. I just did a test and it wants me to bike on two major artery roads for miles at a time, rather than on side streets that go mostly the same way that have almost no traffic.
The best cycling routes use side streets and paved trails. Yes, the six lane road with heavy traffic might be the most direct route, but who wants to do that, even with a bike lane? It's noisy and scary and you're sucking exhaust half the ride. No thank you.
I think the more newsworthy update to Maps is real time reporting of accidents, hazards, and police. If it works as well as Waze, this is a great update.
I get that you enjoy being a pedant but this is getting weird. I expect more from a company with a proven track record like Apple. But by all means, carry on explaining your very rudimentary knowledge of how things work as if it illuminated anything, if that makes you feel better.
Apple like Google at the end of the day is run by humans and humans who create and humans who use have preferences and opinions. Maybe you dislike Apple's focus on Map or lack there of in your opinion, maybe you can do better than both Apple and Google by starting up your own company being a leader showing these BigTech companies and then get noticed and sell it for millions if not billions to them or maybe apply for a position with either company and contribute to a solution or shoot them an email or fill out a recommended features form or bug via the appropriate portal. Voicing your opinion on MacRumors forum is fine and all but do something about it as well.
I wish you all the best in whatever path you choose to find a solution to this Map-ping issue.
