First Episode of 'Servant' Season Two Premieres on Apple TV+

The first episode in season two of "Servant," a horror thriller produced by M. Night Shyamalan, is now available to watch on Apple TV+.

The series follows a Philadelphia couple who are in mourning after losing their child. Their baby, Jericho, is replaced by a reborn doll that the mother thinks is real, and a strange nanny, Leanne, is hired to look after the doll. After Leanne arrives, bizarre things happen to the family.

The show stars Lauren Ambrose, Nell Tiger Free, Rupert Grint, and Toby Kebbell. The first season, which is still available to watch, was popular with ‌‌Apple TV‌+‌ subscribers, and Apple renewed Servant shortly after it launched. New episodes are set to be released on a weekly basis.

LOVE IT! I just wish they had put out the first three episodes at once like they did for Dickinson S2. I guess they're either testing out which method works better, or they prefer dramas to be one episode at a time. (Or they want to stretch the content pipeline out over time)
Now that TV isn't fixed to a particular broadcast schedule, I like all this experimentation with release schedules that's going on.

Entire seasons all at once is pretty great.

One episode per week sucks.

What they're doing with this season of The Expanse on Amazon - the first 3 episodes all at once, then one episode per week afterwards - has been OK.

I think a nice balance might be to just do two ~hour long episodes per week. Do them together or do them on separate days of the week. Gives people the steady drip of content they want, while also making it so they're likely to briefly have nothing new available so encourage exploration of the rest of the catalog.

Alternatively, why still with ~hour long episodes? Turn each one into two episodes that are half as long, and release 3 of those per week.

I gotta admit. The show being associated with M. Night Shamalamadingdong gave me great pause. Fortunately, he produced and mostly left the directing to others. To be fair, the few episodes he did direct were good as well. Thankfully, the show is pretty darn good, despite my reservations about M. Night Shamwow. Looking forward to S2
