For this week's giveaway, we've teamed up with Satechi to offer MacRumors readers a chance to win a USB-C Wireless Charging Dock for AirPods.

satechiairpodsdock
Satechi's Wireless Charging Dock for AirPods is a simple AirPods charging platform that's able to connect to the USB-C port on a MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, or any other device that supports USB-C.

satechiairpodsdock2
The Charging Dock, priced at $30, adds a small platform to the side of a MacBook where the AirPods with Wireless Charging Case or AirPods Pro can be placed. When charging, there's an LED light at the front that lets you know when the battery is full.

satechiairpodsdock3
There are grooved edges on the side of the charger that keep the AirPods in place while charging, and the glossy white design perfectly matches the AirPods and AirPods Pro cases.

satechiairpodsdock4
Because the Wireless Charging Dock for AirPods is so compact, it can be tucked in a pocket or a bag and can be taken anywhere, so you're never without a way to wirelessly charge AirPods. The dock-style design also means there's no need to deal with a cable.

satechiairpodsdock5
Size wise, the AirPods Charging Dock measures in at just 2.28 inches by 1.75 inches, and it's just 0.48 inches thick. It delivers 5W of power for charging up the AirPods quickly.

Can't you just plug the airpods case into the provided lightning cable? What does this accomplish aside from adding an appendage that has to be inserted and removed from the MacBook?

Love this concept.
Yeah, let's create s box that you need to plug in, then use inefficient power transmission to load something slippery that needs to be placed and kept in the exact position on top of that box and which itself could just be plugged in. What a great concept!

The only thing I can imagine that would be even better is a much smaller and more versatile piece that would just directly connect the device. Real shame that nobody has invented such a thing. I would maybe call this a "cable" from latin capulum.

This piece of crap weighs 34 grams and does only one thing. A lightning to USB-c cable weighs 18 grams and charges both Airpods or iPhone. What an idiotic idea.

Not the first to say it, but you really have to want to charge wirelessly to use this thing.

Since it doesn’t have its own power supply it’s kind of useless. If you have to plug it into a laptop you might as well just charge them with the USB cable.
