The Hatch Restore offers the functionality of a bedside reading light, meditation app, sound machine, and sunrise alarm clock, which is meant to help users fall asleep and wake up refreshed.

The app offers a personalized sleep routine with "custom content" designed to prepare the mind and body for sleep. There's a soft-glow timed reading light for use at night, more than 31 sleep sounds to block noise, and a custom sunrise alarm. A dimmable digital clock plus volume and brightness buttons are included, with the Hatch Sleep app able to be used to set everything up. The Hatch Restore can be purchased from Apple's online store for $130.

You jest but Hatch offers $4.99/month or $49.99/year subscription called Hatch Premium, "unlimited access to snooze-inducing stories, music, meditations & more guaranteed to make falling asleep a dream."

Their spec page is now updated, and Restore has Wi-Fi. Their user privacy policy is too aggressive for my comfort zone. They collect not only personally identifiable information, but also sleeping patterns. Some of these information (but not personally identifiable information) will be shared with third-party advertisers.
We use their Hatch Rest for our kids. Great devices; have been awesome. HOWEVER, our neighbors recently had a baby. They also use the Rest. How do I know? Because their Rest shows up in our app! You can see when it is active, what color light they're using, and what music tone they're playing. Incredible invasion of privacy IMO. I alerted Hatch of this and they essentially dismissed it as a non-issue saying simply that since it isn't paired to our app, we can't control it. Uhh?

Yeah but it's a clock that lights up and can play sounds. How could Tim Cook stoop so low :(
Tim Cook's power is completely unchecked. I fear for my life.

What if Hatch releases a blender next?! I need to go sit down.
