At WWDC this morning, Apple has confirmed that Amazon Prime Video will finally be coming to Apple TV and tvOS sometime later this year. With the new app, users will be able to add Amazon Prime TV content directly into Apple's TV app.

Apple CEO Tim Cook didn't mention any further details about the Amazon Prime Video on tvOS announcement, besides saying that, "You'll be hearing a lot more about tvOS later this year."

Would love to know if this will be supported on Gen 3 Apple TVs. I can't upgrade to the Gen 4 since it doesn't have Optical Audio out support for Sonos.

I tweeted Amazon Prime in the last hour asking them about Prime Video coming to "all Apple TVs" They replied, yes it's coming to gen 2, 3 and 4...so I guess we are getting a long overdue update to the gen 2 and 3 models!! Really happy about this as I own two gen 3s. I wonder what else might be coming in that update?

Cool I like amazon prime...
I use Prime video all the time. So this is definitely an added benefit for me and it's expanded capabilities with Apple.
