LG's UltraFine 5K Display Back in Stock on Apple's Website After Shielding Fix

LG's UltraFine 5K Display now ships in 1-2 business days on Apple's website in the United States and Canada, signaling that the display is finally back in stock after having been backordered for up to 4-6 weeks due to an interference issue.

Specifically, some users experienced flickering issues with the UltraFine 5K Display when it came within close proximity of a Wi-Fi router, or in some cases, simply made contact with a MacBook Pro. LG apologized for the issue last month and said all models manufactured after February 2017 would be fitted with enhanced shielding.

Apple stopped sales of the LG UltraFine 5K Display at its retail stores and delayed shipments on its website about a month ago while LG worked on the fix, and it appears the issue is now resolved.

Those who purchased an UltraFine 5K Display prior to February can contact LG to have their model retrofitted with the same improved shielding.

LG's UltraFine 5K Display is still on sale for $974 until March 31, when the price will return to $1,299.95. Longer shipping times are still quoted in some other regions, such as Singapore and the United Kingdom.

They should just keep the price at $974 now. Upping the price at this point will achieve nothing but tick people off.

Don't worry guys!
Still the great 14 day return policy and the inspiring 1 year LG warranty with no AppleCare options.

Whip out those VISA's and call us in 13 months to let us know how "image retention" is going!

I had an LG tv awhile back. It broke and I had two tv repair men try to fix it. They were unable to resolve the issue then my year warranty expired. I will never buy LG again

My Apple retail store business team have been trying unsuccessfully to obtain replacement stock of the 5K display for a couple of weeks and called me yesterday to advise me that the best bet is for me is to return the 2 displays I bought (which are now well outside the 14 day warranty) and order new displays online.

However, when I said I was happy to order the new displays in advance of getting a refund for the original ones, they then said I could keep the original ones until I receive the new ones. They were trying to avoid me having to be out of pocket for 4 displays until the refund went through but I don't mind because I can do it on my credit card and the refund will offset the purchase soon enough.

I can't compliment the business team enough really because they have been as helpful as possible under difficult circumstances and are doing their best to avoid any inconvenience to me. My original displays are definitely affected by the WiFI interference but I can tolerate it for another 1-2 weeks until the new displays arrive. I only lose sync maybe twice a day at the moment having moved my Time Capsule as far as possible away from the displays.

Still a stunning display once the kinks are worked out. I personally think the full asking price is good and people like me and others who have inadvertently acted as beta testers should IMHO benefit from the reduced prices to compensate for inconvenience. People who have waited until April 2017 should pay the full price for a (presumably) working display. :p

Yes, UP2715k.

About the same price as the LG (they were massively more expensive but they're around the same price now).
Seems like the model is discontinued and it's retailing for $1700 now. There's the HP 5K monitor for around $850.

No matter how you slice it though, the LG 5K is an overall better monitor. I prefer the 1 cable solution and DCI-P3 color space

You can't buy another TB3 5K DCI-P3 monitor anywhere.
