Best Buy is now accepting Apple TV 4 pre-orders on its U.S. website for in-store pickup or delivery beginning Wednesday, November 4. The electronics retailer is carrying the new Apple TV in 32GB and 64GB models for $149.99 and $199.99 respectively alongside an optional two-year AppleCare Protection Plan for $29.
Apple has not confirmed when the new Apple TV will be available at Apple Stores in the U.S. and other launch countries, but next week is a possibility based on Apple's own shipping estimates and Best Buy's in-store release date. Personal Pickup for the new Apple TV is currently unavailable through the Apple Online Store.
Apple began taking online orders for the new Apple TV a few days ago, and the first set-top boxes will begin shipping to customers later this week. The earliest deliveries should arrive on October 30 for those who opted for one-day shipping, while standard shipping delivery estimates range between November 2-6.
Apple TV 4 orders have shifted to "Preparing for Shipment" status for many customers.
Best Buy is a convenient option for prospective Apple TV 4 buyers that prefer in-store pickup and do not have an Apple Store within close proximity. The electronics retailer has around 1,050 stores in the U.S., in addition to nearly 200 locations in Canada. The chain also operates in Mexico.

iOS 26.4 will...

Am I the only one that's actually glad the 4th gen atv didn't have 4K? Lol. I got my F8500 1080p plasma when I heard they were being discontinued in late 2013 so it's fairly new. I'de like to wait 2-3 years to upgrade to 4K seeing as how there isn't much 4K content right now anyway.
Why would you be glad a device didn't have a feature you didn't need? What do you gain from its omission?

I don't have a 4K TV yet but I would still prefer for the Apple TV to support it when I do. Look at as an extra feature, there's no harm. You don't have to use it but it will make some people happy.

As someone who just ditched their Apple TV for a Roku, I've got to ask: what is the draw? I'm an Amazon Prime member and unless Amazon puts an app in the Apple environment (assuming they would be allowed to), I plan to stick with Roku. I liked my Apple TV, but it just seems that a Roku is more flexible. Maybe people use the iTunes connectivity, etc. more than I did. I basically just used it for Netflix, HBOGO, etc.
I'll a agree with you on Prime. I currently use my XB1 for that and my ATV for everything else. But I have a huge library of HD movies and TV shows on a mac with many TBs of storage. Having all the stuff available on every ATV in the house and being able to easily put it on iPads is the main reason I use ATV over Roku. I can't tell you how many Roku's I've bought and returned. Every time one comes out and buy it and end up returning. Either because it doesn't integrate with my library easily or the UI was lacking compared to Apple. It also helps that I'm on huge GoT fan and I haven't had cable in years, so the exclusive apple had with HBO early this year was another reason. Also, we Airplay things all time time in our house. Being able to voice search across apps is the feature I'm looking forward to the most with the new Apple TV.
I ordered one from Apple and paid a additional 17.00 for next day shipping. Although my order status hadn't changed yet. I just canceled my apple order after seeing this article and ordered from Best Buy for store pickup on 11/4/15
I have 25.00 in Best Buy points, plus I'll get my 17.00 back for next day shipping. So I get to save 42.00 for being patient. Lol,I can wait. I'll just read everyone else's posts on how great it is until 11/4 :)
