While Apple announced last week that it would be releasing iOS 9 and watchOS 2 to the public today, the company has just announced that it will not be releasing watchOS 2 as scheduled due to a recently discovered bug.
“We have discovered a bug in development of watchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected,” an Apple spokesperson told TechCrunch. “We will not release watchOS 2 today but will shortly.”
Apple seeded the intended golden master version of watchOS 2 to developers immediately following last week's media event, but the company will need to make some final tweaks to address the discovered bug before it feels comfortable releasing the updated operating system to the public.

In 2022, Apple introduced a new Apple Home architecture that is "more reliable and efficient," and the deadline to upgrade and avoid issues is fast approaching.
In an email this week, Apple gave customers a final reminder to upgrade their Home app by February 10, 2026. Apple says users who do not upgrade may experience issues with accessories and automations, or lose access to their smart...
My inner child is screaming "Noooo!" The adult in me is saying well it's good that they aren't shipping it until it's ready. The adult will win...maybe.
Really lame Apple. I hope this and any other bug is squished before its released otherwise it'll be really embarassing.
Whats lame? They found a bug and they're going to fix it! That's how it's done.
Embarrassing would be to release a software with bugs and fix those months later.
I really give them thumbs up for actually fixing a problem instead of shipping garbage like many other software companies nowadays. Especially the gaming industry ships half-baked crap and make you even pay for it.
