mavericks.pngThe latest OS X beta, 10.9.3, may see a public release within the next few days, as AppleCare employees have received a fresh build of the beta. The last build seeded to developers was 13D55, but as noted by 9to5Mac, employees have been given build 13D62, which suggests the beta is nearing the end states of testing.

The OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 Update is recommended for all Mavericks users. It improves the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac.

This update:

- Improves 4K display support on Mac Pro (Late 2013) and MacBook Pro with 15-inch Retina Display (Late 2013)
- Adds the ability to sync contacts and calendars between a Mac and iOS device using a USB connection
- Improves the reliability of VPN connections using IPsec
- Includes Safari 7.0.3

For detailed information about this update, please visit: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6228
For detailed information about the security content of this update, please visit: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1222

10.9.3 will include improved 4K display support, enabling a HiDPI "Retina" scaling option for 4K monitors used with the 2013 Mac Pro and the 2013 Retina MacBook Pro, along with a 60Hz refresh rate.

It is unclear exactly when the beta might be released, but it could be as soon as this afternoon.

Shouldn't that be RESTORES syncing?

So we waited all this time for a 10.9.3 update to get the Mac Pro better 4K support and an update to Safari? (that hardly anyone uses anymore and no longer exists on anything but Apple products despite not official dropping of the Windows version; thanks Apple for being such GENIUSES at communication!). SNOOZE.

What happened to improved graphics drivers? How about getting OpenGL up to date to 4.3 some time this century?

How about fixing Spotlight so it stops corrupting itself? (i.e. I'm rebuilding from scratch/reboot again after it completely hung itself once again right now).

How about a flipping dock bar on both monitors for those of us that use the side-mounted dock? I mean that was a no-brainer that should have been there since day 1 (let alone all the people they cheesed off with the light grey opaque look that looks awful on darker backdrops).

How about an option for update notification to NOT BUG ME AGAIN *EVER* instead of options of "1 hour from now" or "tomorrow" and crap like that. Great. I know there's an update. Stop bugging me. Yeah, I know I can turn update notification OFF period, but I just want to know ONCE.

How about a dual-pane browser option so I don't need XtraFinder forever?

How about some REAL improvements *OR* JUST LEAVE IT ALONE so we can get stability instead? Apple has introduced more bugs than it has fixed or new features added by a magnitude or more. This constant once a year update cycle is going to be the death of Apple at some point combined with their lack of support for older versions of OSX. Some people NEED stability and Apple keeps fracking things up and then says/does NOTHING since everything has to be a big secret!
