mavericks_round_iconApple today seeded build 13D21 of OS X 10.9.3 to developers, one week after releasing the second OS X 10.9.3 beta, build 13D17 and two weeks after the first 10.9.3 beta. The beta is available through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store as well as through the Mac Dev Center.

Apple is currently asking developers to focus on Graphics Drivers and Audio. As was discovered with the first beta, 10.9.3 adds new support for 4K displays, offering "Retina" resolutions that improve readability along with support for 60Hz output from the Retina MacBook Pro.

Apple has also released the new 11.1.6 iTunes beta to developers, which was initially seeded to Apple employees earlier this week. The beta restores the ability to locally sync contacts and calendars, a feature that was removed with the launch of Mavericks.

I like seeing them working on graphics performance. Maybe someday I'll be able to get similar performance in games that have Mac versions to the performance of Windows versions.

One of the possible reasons for slower GPU performance compared with Windows might be the old driver versions Apple uses: i.e. 10.9.2 still on 310.40 which was released by Nvidia 1 year ago!

In 1 year a lot of fixes/optimisation will have happened by Nvidia to their drivers (windows users are currently on 335.23..)

Nice! Do you think you could check if 10.9.3 supports any new OpenGL functionality compared to 10.9.2? (I made a post about how to do that here: https://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=18713234&postcount=9)

It doesn't. The GPU performance has increased around 10% for me though...

Any fixes for the random networking failures?

How about "fixes" for the waste of system resources with all the new system services and processes added in Mavericks and the networking activity by the "gamed" process?? If I'm not running Game Center or playing Game Center apps, why the frack is the gamed process running and communicating on the Internet?
