According to this MacAddict article, a report by the Gartner Group predicts that wireless handheld devices (like the Palm VII) will follow the lead of cell-phones -- free or very cheap unit if you purchase the service.
I guess it's no stretch of the imagination with the recent emergance of PDA/Cellphone combinations.
