I live in a college town and I've joked with my wife that the sorority girls with Volvos have parents who love them because they are exceptionally well built from a safety perspective. I think the XC60 has zero reported fatalities in the entire history of the vehicle across multiple generations.
Surprised I test drive a few in 2024 they all were severely lacking in modern technology,,,,,, salesman kept says that’s because the focus was on safety…..I bought a different brand.
Volvo does do a few things well besides safety: their seating is very comfortable and their premium sound systems are usually among the best performing in the their segment.
