Now through August 28, Apple will donate $10 to the National Park Foundation for every purchase made in the U.S. using Apple Pay on Apple.com, in the Apple Store app, or at an Apple Store, up to a maximum of $1 million.
In addition, the annual U.S. national parks Apple Watch Activity Challenge returns on Sunday, August 23 this year.
Just because you write it off doesn’t mean it doesn’t cost anything. It just lowers the taxable income.
Oh and the National Park Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, so Apple could likely write off the entire $1 million as a charitable deduction. So, in reality, this "generous" donation might not even cost Apple a dime after tax breaks.
So nice to see you and others A: dictate how Apple makes donations, and B: have the nerve to deem such donations as insufficient.
You’re a trillion dollar company. You can donate a million no strings attached as we’ve seen and it would be ashtray change for you.
