Kanex today announced two additional devices to its line of GoPower Apple Watch accessories: the GoPower Watch Stand and GoPower Watch Mini. The two new accessories join the GoPower Watch Portable Battery, which debuted this past August for $99.95.

The magnetic GoPower Watch Stand charges and displays both 38mm and 42mm Apple Watch variations. There's also an additional USB port on the back of the stand that can simultaneously charge an iPhone or another iOS or USB device. The Watch Stand comes with a built-in inductive charging connector so users can leave their charging cable at home.

The GoPower Watch Mini is an ultra-portable, cord-free "charging disc" that can power an Apple Watch on the go. It comes with 1,000 mAh of battery power, which Kanex says is enough to fully charge an Apple Watch once. Comparatively, the original GoPower Watch Portable Battery provides 4,000 mAh of power. The Mini comes with an LED battery level indicator and a Micro USB cable to recharge the battery when it's low. It also comes with a keychain ring so users can attach the Mini to their keychain.

The GoPower Watch Stand and Mini will both be available in February 2017. The Stand is priced at $79.95 while the Mini is priced at $59.95

The mini seems quite a nice, good idea but you could get the same or more amount of charge from a USB battery and standard cable for a lower cost if you didn't need it quite so small. I am generally a fan of things that can be attached to keychains though :)

the apple watch isn't important enough to carry spare power around.
Well you could say the Apple Watch isn't important enough to buy or wear, and yet people have, and do. Perhaps it's not so much about importance as it is utility and desire?

Nope.

Products with enough battery to last all day on their own don't need portable chargers. Where are the people to stop these people from wasting time and money on developing solutions for problems that don't exist?

Interesting theory. Is it more important to carry a spare charger for the Apple Watch who rely on it for medical concerns utilizing the heart rate monitor for those who have or are prone to heart attacks?
Nobody, and I mean nobody, is wearing the AW for heart monitoring for heart attacks. If you've been advised to do so by a doctor I suggest you immediately contact the medical board to pull his license because there is no approval by the FDA for such a use case.

I think it's fairly obvious and goes without stating, the Apple Watch is not for medical grade assessment. However, this forum member and many others listed below this link would disagree with your post based on your post rendition and its general Apple Watch measurement and monitoring uses. Post your claim on that thread, as it seems More appropriate For the terms of discussion, as I'm confident you will find others who will challenge your quote and state your claim and subjective stance.

And I'm not arguing with you, just pointing you in the direction where your claim will be refuted otherwise.

The only time I could see a portable charger being of use is during travel. There's a travel case that stores the watch, charges it and has room for other bands. A keychain charger is of limited use because the Watch itself lasts all day anyway.
